The ‘Daddy Lessons’ video has arrived. Beyonce released the album on Tidal on Nov. 4 after sharing a small peak of it during her ‘Lemonade’ special in April. Of course this comes just two days after she took the stage with the Dixie Chicks at the CMA Awards to perform the hit. Watch the video here!
Beyonce‘s video opens with a black and white view of a swamp, a mansion, and little girls jumping on a bed — Bey is watching. Of course, the song is based in Texas and features shots of her hometown of Houston as well as New Orleans. Bey of course looks stunning in a gown, and also rides a horse through the video. Also, we see sneaks of old home videos with her father, Matthew Knowles, who the song is about.
The music video couldn’t be more timely –Bey just joined the Dixie Chicks on stage at the 50th Annual Country Music Association Awards on Sunday night for a performance of the song that everyone was talking about. Following the performance, country music fans lashed out on social media claiming she didn’t belong there; the CMA account also reportedly deleted all mentions of her on their account. Fortunately, the Dixie Chicks stood by Beyonce, tweeting, “If we all turn this up really loud, together we can drown out the hate,” with a link to the song. The band’s lead singer, Natalie Maines added, “Hey everybody! The CMA’s just called and asked us to co-host next year’s show with Beyoncé.Unfortunately I’ve got a thing that night so, no,” before writing, “‘You know you dat Bitch when you cause all this conversation. Always stay gracious best revenge is your paper.’ #Bey #Slay.”
