Oliver and Felicity might not be getting back together for a long time. Stephen Amell revealed in a new interview that he wants to see Oliver have a relationship that’s not with Felicity. He noted it’s time for Oliver to ‘move on.’ Spoilers ahead!
“I don’t know if he’s ready to move on, but it’s time for Oliver to have another relationship,” Stephen Amell, 35, told our sister site TVLine. He also added who he think could be the woman to catch his eye after Felicity. “I’ve had a couple of scenes with Carly [Pope], who’s doing a great job as [reporter] Susan Williams,” he said. “I do think that there will be some exploration of a certain element of romance between the two of them, and I hope that people enjoy it, because I’ve found it to be really dynamic so far.”
In the Nov. 2 episode, Oliver found out that Felicity was dating Billy. “I’m fine, but hurt you didn’t tell me,” he told her. Felicity admitted that she kept “chickening out” and Oliver wondered if she was just keeping hope alive for a reunion on purpose. “No, of course not…” she said.
Stephen confessed that he wasn’t OK at first with Felicity not telling Oliver the truth about moving on right away. “I wasn’t actually a huge fan that she wouldn’t say something because of all the reasons their relationship fell apart last year because of secrets being kept,” he said, according to Screener TV.
Hopefully this is the first step towards Oliver and Felicity mending their relationship. If they can’t be together, they should at least be able to restore the friendship. Before they were lovers, they were friends. Arrow season 5 airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
