It’s officially been over two years since Sam Hunt dropped his debut album, ‘Montevallo,’ and all of us country fans are dying to know: WHEN will he finally release more new music? Sam dished ALL about what he’s working on in a brand new interview!
Sam Hunt, 31, has skyrocketed to fame since the Oct. 27, 2014 release of Montevallo, and his songs have been blowing up radio airwaves ever since. But now that the album’s fifth single is slowly fading out, fans are itching for more music…and luckily, the singer’s hard at work on giving us just that.
“My hope is that the next record will be more vulnerable and more honest than I was on the first record, and that’s obviously going to require me to write the songs,” Sam told HollywoodLife.com and other outlets on the Carnival Splendor for their Carnival Live concert series. “I’m going to tap into my own life. If I want that record to reflect real experiences in my life, then I’m going to have to write the songs. So that is something that I want to do.”
But, unfortunately, he currently has no specific plans for when we’ll actually get to hear what he’s working on. “I don’t want to rush it,” he explained. “There’s sort of a model that exists in Nashville that we have to abide by when you put out a record: Two years later you have to put another one out, and you need to have four singles or three singles. There’s all these rules that I’ve just sort of thrown out the window. So I am just kind of going to put music out when I feel like it’s ready.”
Fair enough — we obviously want to hear the best of the best, right?! For now, it looks like we’ll have to continue patiently waiting!
HollywoodLifers, are you excited to hear new music from Sam Hunt? Do you think it will take a long time for him to put out an album?
