Oh, the irony. Shortly after Melania Trump announced her plans to combat cyber-bullying on Nov. 3, fans were quick to mock her speech at the rally, addressing how her husband Donald Trump constantly bad-mouths others! Check out the tweets here!
Melania Trump, 46, made a profound speech at a Philadelphia rally on Nov. 3, announcing her plans to fight cyber bullying if she becomes the first lady of the United States. Despite her good intentions, fans were quick to spot the irony in her words, considering Donald Trump‘s highly controversial remarks towards women and his many nay-sayers. Taking to Twitter, several voiced their dismay over her campaign speech, slamming her for sticking by Donald despite his constant antics. One user wrote, “Melania wants to stop online bullying. Guess Trump will name her Secretary of Irony.” Ouch. And that’s just the start of it. See all the tweets here:

“Our culture has gotten too mean and too violent,” the wife of Republican nominee revealed in her first address since the RNC, vowing to take action if her husband wins the presidency. “We have to find a better way to talk to each other, to disagree with each other, to respect each other.” Obviously her comments stirred up even more controversy since it was only one day ago that Donald slammed Katy Tur during a speech in Miami. “We have massive crowds; there’s something happening. They’re not reporting it,” he said. “Katy, you’re not reporting it, Katy.”
After Donald’s remarks, a social media campaign quickly trended with the hashtag #ImWithTur, defending the NBC News reporter who was singled out for mockery. On top of that, the National Education Association recently began a campaign to raise awareness of a “Trump effect,” where children are following suit and bullying others, after being inspired by his bold and unfiltered remarks. Yikes! Even though Melania’s heart was in the right place, it seems many voters can’t forgive and forget Donald’s behavior.
