The Philadelphia Eagles announced, Nov. 3, that they have released wide receiver, Josh Huff. This shocking news comes just two days after the NFL star was arrested for speeding and then charged with possessing a 9 mm handgun and marijuana in New Jersey. Get the details.
Josh Huff, 25, has been cut from the Eagles roster as of Thursday, Nov. 3. The team officially announced the news just two days after his arrest. Howie Roseman, 41, Executive Vice President of Operations for the team is set to address the decision to the media at 12:20 PM EST.

After josh was arrested after being pulled over for speeding on the Walt Whitman Bridge in NJ, Nov. 1. He was charged with possession of a 9 mm handgun, that was unloaded with six hollow point bullets and marijuana, among other citations. While the fate of his career was unsure at that point, the wide receiver still practiced with his team the very next day, Wednesday, Nov. 2, according to ESPN.
Huff addressed his arrest during the practice to reporters. He expressed his feelings about the incident and apologized to his teammates and the Eagles organization for causing a “distraction.”
When speaking about carrying a gun, Josh had his own strong take on the matter. “I’m a professional athlete. What professional athlete don’t have a gun?” he said. “I have a wife and I have a son at home. My job is to protect them at all costs, and my job is to protect myself as well, even though I know I have security here, but I have to protect myself as well.” When Josh was asked if he thinks everyone in the Eagles locker room and around the league carries a gun, Huff said, “I do. Yes, I do.”

Josh was reportedly set to play in Sunday’s game when the Eagles will take on the Giants Nov. 6. ESPN said Eagles coach, Doug Pederson indicated, Nov. 2, that Josh would be on the field that day. However, things obviously took an unexpected turn. We will keep you updated on Josh’s release.
