Alanis Morissette made a MAJOR political statement when she posted an intimate pic of herself breastfeeding her newborn daughter Onyx while showing off an ‘I Voted’ sticker! And proving that she’s the ultimate multitasking mom, the singer even made a plug to encourage EVERYONE to get out and vote — even if you can’t leave the house!
Since June, Alanis Morissette, 42, has had her hands full raising her newborn baby daughter Onyx Solace Morissette-Treadway, but even motherly duties hasn’t stopped her from exercising her right to vote ahead of next week’s presidential election! The Canadian singer, who actually became a U.S. citizen back in 2005, endorsed voting and breastfeeding all with one brilliant Instagram post when she shared a pic of herself with her four-month-old baby on Nov. 2.
Alanis most likely cast her ballot by mail as she showed off her new “I Voted” sticker while breastfeeding her second child. “#evenwhenyoucantleavethehouse,” the proud parent captioned her nursing selfie. How sweet is that? We love how Alanis is projecting a “no excuses” attitude when it comes to voting this year!
And while the “Jagged Little Pill” singer didn’t reveal whose team she’s on for POTUS, she IS distantly related to presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton, 69, according to Washington genealogist William Addams Reitwiesner. But Alanis isn’t the first celeb to promote voting in this major election.

In fact, on Oct. 24, Justin Timberlake created some controversy when he posted a selfie from inside a voting booth, which is actually a violation of Tennessee law that could’ve cost the Trolls star a 30-day jail stint in jail coupled with a $50 fine. Additionally, Katy Perry spent her 32nd birthday rocking the vote in support of Hillary.
Alanis and her rapper hubby, Mario “Souleye” Treadway, 36, welcomed their little girl on June 23. The Grammy-winner announced baby Onyx’s birth on social media with yet another breastfeeding photo along with the caption, “#beyondblessed.” The couple, who married in 2010 at their home in Los Angeles, are also proud parents to five-year-old son Ever.
Tell us, HollywoodLifers — do you love how Alanis showed off her commitment to voting? Or is her pic over-the-top?
