Congrats to Taraji P. Henson and Jussie Smollett! The ‘Empire’ co-stars were just named the new Viva Glam spokesmodels for MAC Cosmetics. Get the details on the new collaboration and when you can shop it, ahead.
MAC Cosmetics’ Viva Glam campaign is back and bolder than ever for 2017. Naming not one, but two spokesmodels for the newest collaboration, MAC has selected Taraji P. Henson and Jussie Smollett as the faces behind Viva Glam.
Posing together in the campaign’s first image, Taraji wears a bright fuchsia lipstick in a high-shine finish that will be available to purchase in February 2017. Each year, the Viva Glam collection, which was created in support of those affected by HIV/AIDS, consists of a MAC Lipstick and Lipglass created in collaboration with their celebrity spokesmodel. Last year, Ariana Grande worked with MAC, and Nicki Minaj, Miley Cyrus and Christina Aguilera have all been Viva Glam spokesmodels, too.
Sharing the official campaign image on his Instagram, Jussie explained the importance of the Viva Glam collection, writing: “I’m excited to announce@tarajiphenson and I are working with@MACCosmetics on the #VIVAGLAMcampaign! @MACcosmetics through the#MacAIDSFund is on a mission to end AIDS and since the 90s, they’ve raised $430 million through the sales of #VivaGlam lip products. Every single cent of the sales of these products help to end HIV/AIDS. I believe that together we can end this epidemic once and for all. Love y’all.”
Of course, this isn’t Taraji’s first partnership with the cosmetics brand. The actress just teamed up with MAC earlier this fall to create her own makeup collection that included a matte beige lipstick perfect for darker skin tones and two new Mineralize Skinfinish shades.
