Wow. The trailer for Taylor Lautner’s new movie, ‘Run The Tide,’ is finally here — and you’re going to need tissues while watching it. Click inside to watch.

Taylor Lautner, 24, is ready to take on darker roles now that his Twilight days are behind him. In the first trailer for the highly anticipated Run The Tide, Taylor portrays Rey, a concerned big brother who thinks he is a better parent than his own mother, portrayed by Unreal‘s Constance Zimmer.

As you can see, this intense family drama is quite different than anything Taylor has done before. While protecting his on-screen little brother, the two go on the run to avoid being split up by their birth mother once she’s released from prison. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem like big brother Rey is going to get the happy ending he dreamed about.

For those of you unfamiliar with the movie, it was filmed in 2014 in Los Angeles, California and the surrounding areas. Since then, Taylor has laid low from films and instead started working on television. He starred in multiple seasons of Cuckoo, replacing Andy Samberg in the second season, and then joined the second season of Scream Queens alongside John Stamos.

Run The Tide is set to be released on December 2. We can’t wait to see Taylor’s new drama!
