We can’t even handle this. After wrapping their final scene together on the set of ‘Pretty Little Liars,’ Troian Bellisario told HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY that parting ways with Keegan Allen was ‘like a breakup,’ but also ‘like a death.’
“It was like a breakup — a weird breakup where you’re like, ‘I love you, but we can’t be together anymore because we have no, you know, it’s just not happening.’ It was really hard. [Keegan Allen] kept on teasing me because he kept on saying, ‘This isn’t affecting you as much as it is me.’ And we were shooting our last scene together, and he said, ‘This is the last time.’ I said, ‘Just stop! I’m trying to shoot a scene with you.’ And he was looking at me and he’s like, ‘Last time. Last time.’ And I was like, ‘I can’t focus on this scene if you continuously start pushing.’ And then it was like the moment they yelled, ‘Series wrap on Keegan,’ and he gave his speech to the cast and crew saying thank you, I went up to hug him and we both just dissolved into tears. And that’s when Ashley [Benson] caught that moment,” Troian Bellisario told HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY at the Pretty Little Liars wrap party on Oct. 30. (Watch that moment in the video below!)
“And I didn’t realize how difficult it would be — to realize that in seven years I’ve never felt more comfortable shooting a scene with anybody, whether it was an awkward sex scene, or I had to be scared, or I had to say something stupid, with Keegan it was always easy. And he was always supportive of whatever I did. I think in that moment realizing that I was losing him as a partner, it was so gut-wrenching. It really did feel like a death, more than a breakup — a death of two characters,” she adds.
Troian and Keegan also exchanged heart-wrenching goodbye letters to each other on social media late last week.
