It’s that time of year again! ‘The Bachelor’ will officially premiere on Monday January 2, and you better have your tissues ready. Chris Harrison just revealed that yes, Nick Viall cries, a lot on the new season.
“I know people were a little reluctant, and they’re giving him a hard time,” Chris Harrison said in a clip of On With Mario Lopez, first revealed to Us Weekly. “I hope those people will just trust that we know what we’ve been doing over 15 years. He’s a good man — he’s a really good guy. And he’s doing a good job.”
He then referenced Jason Mesnick, who notoriously sobbed when he sent home Molly Malaney (on After the Final Rose, he changed his mind and is now with Molly).
“I will say — a little inside baseball because we’re in the middle of taping right now — he hit a little low point, as all of the Bachelors do,” Chris said of the 36-year-old vet. “You kind of reach this emotional bottom where you get stripped down. If you know what a Mesnick is, I will let you know that he pulled a full Mesnick. There will be man tears on this season for sure.”
We kind of love man tears, and they’ve kind of become a tradition in the past on The Bachelor. And we know Nick can get emotional — we’ve seen it on both seasons of The Bachelorette that he was on and when he was on the other side of the break up on Bachelor in Paradise. We also know, thanks to creator Mike Fleiss, that Nick was definitely feeling anxious before night one.
“Nick is as nervous as any guy I’ve ever seen,” Mike tweeted at the time. Nick also went on GMA right before filming began to admit that he did have hesitations before the show started, but ultimately just wanted to find love. So will he? I guess we’ll see! Are you excited for Nick’s season? Do you think this is his last time?
