Dressing stylishly while pregnant can definitely be a challenge, but Molly Sims, 43, has a super simple formula down pat — and it’s pretty brilliant! From revealing her favorite maternity fashion secrets, to sharing her pregnancy clothing staples, the blonde beauty got SUPER real with fans while dishing all about her third pregnancy to Amazon’s live stream fashion and beauty show Style Code Live.

“People always ask me now that I’m on my third baby, ‘How do you dress your pregnancy bump?'” Molly told the fashion show. “The number one thing I’ve learned is Monochromatic… It’s the number one key. So, tone on tone, camel with brown, magenta with a light lilac.” SUCH a great style tip, right? It makes so much sense when you want to appear a bit smaller and not overwhelm your growing belly.
And Molly also practices what she preaches, as she was wearing a light dusty pink ensemble from Topshop during her interview that consisted of a skintight dress and a long jacket. Even better — her whole outfit from that day, excluding her shoes cost under $115!
“But the key is, as you get bigger, you want to dress tighter,” the model explained. “You definitely don’t want something that gives you a lot of layers because your baby is already kind of giving you those layers, so it’s really good to dress really tight. I think I went like two or three sizes up — none of this is maternity.”
Molly is so right too — a lot of stars shy away from wearing designated maternity clothing. Instead, they prefer to simply size up in regular brands and designers. “I think another key thing when you’re pregnant is, don’t look at a size,” Molly offered. “You don’t necessarily have to wear pregnancy clothes. If you’re in a size 10, 14, 12 — it doesn’t matter — no one is looking and no one is certainly counting at this stage.”
As for her pregnancy staples, Molly can’t get enough of black leggings, but she also swears by her black stretchy dress, keeping a variety of jackets on hand, and long cardigans. “A long cardigan is a must-have,” she revealed. “It can be thick if you’re in colder weather, it could be thin if you’re in lighter weather, but, it really makes a great silhouette — and I think that’s what it’s all about. So keep everything tight… Just because you’re pregnant doesn’t mean you can’t dress cool.”
And we totally agree! But the most important accessory Molly says no women should leave the house without? “Don’t go out of the house if you don’t feel confident,” Molly advised. “Just embrace where you are!” Now THAT we can definitely live by!
