Ezra Miller is the biggest Harry Potter fan out there. In a new 60-second video, Ezra explains some very important wizarding world history and the possible connection between ‘Fantastic Beasts’ and ‘Harry Potter!’ Click to WATCH!
“In Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows, Voldemort goes into Dumbledore’s tomb, rudely, to retrieve the Elder Wand,” Ezra says in the video. “Dumbledore won that wand in a famous duel with the most famous dark wizard prior to Voldemort. If you don’t know this, I’m upset with you. His name was Gellert Grindelwald. It’s considered one of the most significants turning points in magical history. Now think about it with me. Fantastic Beasts takes place in 1926, which is around when Grindelwald was beginning his attacks across Europe. Which might be connected, might not be connected, but might be connected to Grindelwald’s rise to power.”
Whoa. Ezra, who plays Credence in Fantastic Beasts, just went through so much. Remind us never to compete in a trivia game with Ezra. Ezra just hinted that we’ll probably see Dumbledore in at least one of the five Fantastic Beasts movies. We are so here for it.
J.K. Rowling has teased that Grindelwald will make an appearance in the Fantastic Beasts movies. “There are ways in which we connect to the Potter books, that I think people will find surprising,” she said in a featurette. “They’re talking about the first time a wizard rose and threatened a world order. This was always where I was interested in going. This is what I wanted to do.”
Grindelwald’s only appearance in the Harry Potter franchise was Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows — Part 1. Let’s hope Jamie Campbell Bower will reprise his role as Grindelwald! Fantastic Beasts & Where To Find Them will hit theaters on Nov. 18.
