Matt Lauer and Savannah Guthrie promised that the ‘Today Show’s annual Halloween show was going to be ‘epic’ and they weren’t kidding! This year, Carson Daly channeled himself from the ‘TRL’ days and counted down some of the biggest moments of the 90s…which the cast then dressed as!
It’s the moment the folks at NBC’s Today Show wait for all year long — their annual Oct. 31 Halloween themed broadcast where the whole gang gets together in epic costumes, and once again, they totally brought it this year!

Carson Daly dressed as himself from the TRL days to count down memorable moments from the past, and then things flash-forwarded to present day to show the Today cast dressed as the iconic flashbacks. First up? Tamron Hall and Willie Geist, who channeled Uma Thurman and John Travolta’s characters from Pulp FIction.
And what would the 90s be without Steve Urkel, right?! Al Roker killed it as a total nerd to dress up as the Family Matters character, complete with suspenders, glasses and high-waisted pants. Carson himself got in on the fun, too, with his 90s costume being The Terminator — sunglasses, a leather jacket and motorcycle were all necessities for his look!
Kathie Lee and Hoda took things way back to the Live! With Regis & Kathie Lee days, which Kathie Lee dressed as her former co-host and Hoda dressed as her BFF. Regis Philbin himself even popped in for a cameo! And since Savannah Guthrie is pregnant, it was the perfect opportunity for her to channel Demi Moore’s iconic Vanity Fair cover, for which she posed naked while cradling her baby bump. And finally, there was Matt Lauer, who dressed as Jerry Seinfeld in that infamous puffy, white shirt that we’ll never forget. All-in-all…an epic showing!
HollywoodLifers, what did you think of the Today Show‘s Halloween theme for 2016? Was it as epic as they promised?
