Taylor Swift pulled out one of her nicest gestures to date when she gifted a family who lost their teenage daughter in a car accident with the $5,000 they needed to pay for her funeral arrangements. Find out how T. Swift helped out one of her biggest fan’s family’s, right after the jump.
Taylor Swift, 26, is lucky enough to be blessed in so many ways. And the “Shake It Off” singer seems to know just how blessed she is, as she chooses to spread the blessings around when she can. Recently she made one family’s life a little easier by donating $5,000 to a GoFundMe account set up to pay for funeral arrangements for a teenage fan, Katie Beth Carter.

Katie’s sister, Kimi Carter, 16, from Ringgold, Georgia, told Billboard that, along with her donation, Tay had also posted the sweetest message to the family. “Kimi, No words could express how sorry I am for your loss. I know that you will keep Katie’s memory alive. Please know how much I am thinking of you and saying a prayer for your family. All my love, Taylor,” the singer wrote. “Somehow, Taylor Swift reached out to me exactly when I needed it the most,” Kimi told Billboard of how the singer helped her following her 18-year-old sister’s death. “I felt more at peace. Katie was up there, pulling strings for me, trying to make this a little easier to get through,” Kimi said.
Katie was a freshman at Jacksonville State University at the time of her death. She died when her Honda Accord crashed into an 18-wheeler while she was driving back to campus after spending Labor Day with her family. Taylor learned about Katie’s death through social media, where her fans were talking about the tragic accident. And thank God she did, because it seems like her gesture really helped Katie’s family out.
