Just one month after filing for divorce, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are selling their gorgeous New Orleans mansion! The exes are getting a cool $4.9 million for the property, which they sold on Friday, October 28! It’s the end of an era. We have all the details here!
This divorce is really happening, you guys. Brad Pitt, 52, and Angelina Jolie, 41, finalized the sale of their New Orleans mansion, which they bought in 2007 after Hurricane Katrina. They adored the 1830s-era property in the famed French Quarter, which they bought for $3.5 million, and put lots of love into it. Now that they’ve split for good, the exes are walking away with $4.9 million!
“It sold for a very fair price. It’s a good deal for both parties. They’re happy with the outcome,” listing agent Nina Killeen confirmed to the Associated Press on the closing date, October 28. It’s unclear at this time how the profits are being divided between the estranged couple, but if they’re happy, we’re happy!
This house is seriously impressive, and we’re dying to know who Brad and Angelina sold it to. The mansion was built in the 19th century, and is positively breathtaking. It has 7645 square feet, five bedrooms, three bathrooms and two half-baths. Crazy! They bought the mansion after Hurricane Katrina, when Brad established the amazing Make It Right Foundation. The foundation funds housing development in New Orleans’ 9th Quarter, which was ravaged by the devastating hurricane.
This is just another sad sign that Brad and Angelina’s marriage is actually over. They have bigger things to think about than their NOLA house, though. Brad is reportedly being investigated by the Department of Children and Family Services for alleged verbal abuse; Angelina was reportedly “grilled for hours” by the FBI about the alleged abuse.
