It sounds like ‘Will & Grace’ is not so over after all. After the cast reunited last month for an election-themed scene, it sounds like that spark was re-lit! The show is reportedly in talks with NBC for new episodes coming in 2017.
Looks like that YouTube video drove enough buzz for a revival! NBC is reportedly in talks with the producers of Will & Grace as well as the main cast, about bringing the show back for a limited-run of new episodes. Yes, that would include Eric McCormack, Debra Messing, Megan Mullally and Sean Hayes.
“If there was a Will & Grace 2.0, my wish is that we did 10 [episodes] on, like, Netflix or Amazon or somewhere where it could be the naughty version of Will & Grace,” Debra told People after the video hit the web last month of the new scene. “Because you know we were on network television and there were certain lines of common storytelling that we were limited to so it would be fun to kind of go into that world where nothing is held back.”
NBC has yet to comment on this yet. The original series ran from 1998-2006, and when the cast began posting photos together in September on set of the election-themed video, fans immediately started freaking out. “You smell the same!” Debra wrote on a photo of herself hugging Eric. They also posted a group photo, seen below with the caption “Only smiling because of where Eric’s hand is!” One thing is for sure, this cast is still really close.
