Right on the heels of the release of the iPhone 7, Apple has more exciting news: they debuted a new ‘smart’ MacBook Pro, complete with a touch bar! Get all the info on the brand new computer right here. Are you excited to try the new device?
Apple introduced the first notebook on October 25, 1991, so to celebrate the 25th anniversary the brand unveiled a revolutionary new version of the MacBook Pro at a press conference on Oct. 27 — and here’s everything you need to know about the new computer! Along with a better battery, display, design and ergonomics, the computer will also come equipped with a Touch Bar, Siri and Touch ID. The news follows the launch of the iPhone 7.
The new Apple MacBook Pro will feature a Touch ID that will allow users to quickly switch between profiles. The Touch Bar will change controls for email, providing quick reply options and text color options. It will suggest emojis, just like the new imessage does on the iPhone. You will also be able to pay directly from your Mac with Apple Pay. The keyboard will also look different, as the function keys are now gone — users can expect a new and improved keyboard!

The new MacBook Pro features a whole new design that includes an OLED bar and it is the thinnest and lightest Pro ever made by the brand. The 13-inch model weighs in at 3 pounds, making it almost a pound and a half less than the last one launched by Apple. It’s 14.9mm thick and 23% smaller in volume and will start at $1,799. The 15-inch model is 15.5 mm thick and weighs 4 pounds and prices will start at $2,399. The OLED bar, or the “Touch Bar,” replaces system functions and adapts to new software, so, for example, if a user is in a photo app, it will basically transform into a smaller toolbar and include Siri and the system icons — it is bringing the easy functions of the iPhone to your computer! It also acts on multi-touch and will allow for more powerful edits — and it’ll even include filters! There’s functionality that allows the user to customize their Touch Bar to their liking to maximize the user experience. The 13-inch and 15-inch laptops equipped with the touch bar will go on sale in the next two to three weeks and, unlike the iPhone, both computers feature a headphone jack. The touchscreen MacBookPro will feature 10 hours of battery life.
