How do you get over a heartbreak? Well, write about it! That seems to be Luke Pell’s method after being blindsided by JoJo Fletcher eliminating him on ‘The Bachelorette.’ He just revealed that he’s actually been penning songs about what he went through, and we’ll hear them on his new album!
“A lot of artists write about past relationships and current ones. You write about the good and the bad and the ugly as a way to paint of picture of what happened,” Luke Pell, 32, told Us Weekly. “You’re a storyteller at the end of the day. So absolutely, there will be some of that about JoJo in my writing.”
Luke came in fourth place on JoJo’s season of The Bachelorette, and quickly became a fan favorite. He was also set to be The Bachelor, but producers changed their minds just hours before he was set to fly to LA. Now, he’s focusing on his music and his new album, which is set to be released in January 2017.
“People will pick up on it because they’ve seen what happened in reality, but I don’t say her name. They’ll be able to draw connections from what the music is saying. But I try not to go too cliché. I don’t have a rose song,” he told the magazine, adding that it won’t just be heartbreak songs.
For those who love an upbeat song about love, you’re in for a treat, too. “It’s the full spectrum of emotions. There are songs that cover the happy times and the falling in love. But you’re remiss if you don’t cover the sad times too — the parts that are confusing and the parts that hurt a little bit. People who have been through it themselves will listen and be like, ‘I get what he’s talking about!’”
So, will you listen to Luke’s new album?
