Aww! Kanye West’s heart is aching for his ‘Father Stretch My Hands’ collaborator Kid Cudi since he admitted himself to rehab for ‘depression and suicidal urges.’ To honor him, Ye got the whole crowd at his first Forum show in L.A. singing a tribute! See the sweet video, right here.
Kanye West, 39, goes hard for the people he cares about. Clearly Kid Cudi, 32, was on his mind when he performed his first night at the Forum on Oct. 26, because he asked his fans to give him a major shout-out and show the “depressed” rapper some love. “So Cudi, he in rehab right now, but he got a number one song on the radio and I want you to sing so he can hear it,” he shouted as “Father Stretch My Hands” began to play. The song of course features Kid Cudi, and is currently climbing all of the rap and hip hop charts around the world.
“I want him to hear that. Cudi, you hear them?” he asked over the sound of the crowd all singing together to honor K.C.. What a beautiful moment, and what a great way to kick off Yeezy’s 6-show stint in sunny Los Angeles. Perhaps being home is what made him so sentimental about his buddy.
This isn’t the first time Kanye has shown love to Kid Cudi. During his Sept. 20 performance he said “I just wanna take this time out to say Kid Cudi is my brother and I hope he’s doing well. He’s the most influential artist of the past 10 years.” So sweet!
What’s odd is that right before Kid Cudi’s rehab stint was revealed, Kanye actually smack talked the “Pursuit of Happiness” singer, saying at his Tampa show “Kid Cudi, don’t ever mention ‘Ye name. I birthed you,” he typed. “We all dealing with that emo shit all the time; me, Pat, Don C. Don’t ever mention ‘Ye name. Don’t try to say who I can do songs with. You mad ’cause I’m doing songs with Drake. Ain’t nobody telling ‘Ye who to do songs with. Respect the God!” Drake and Cudi definitely have beef because Drake talked crap about him after he entered rehab. At least Yeezy is on his side!
