Oh no! It doesn’t seem like Brad Pitt’s separation from his kids will end anytime soon, as new reports claim that the Department of Child and Family Services in Los Angeles has extended and expanded their abuse investigation to include more members of the family. Here’s the scoop.
Brad Pitt’s alleged child abuse situation just keeps getting worse. After nearly a month of cooperating with the DCFS, the investigation which was expected to end in Oct. will now allegedly continue indefinitely. Sources tell TMZ that after many interviews with family members, child services determined that they need to look into “other alleged incidents,” including some between Brad and Angelina Jolie that their kids may have witnessed. “They’re looking for a history or pattern of behavior,” a legal insider tells People as to why the investigation has been extended. “They are looking at the original inciting incident and anything surrounding that, and looking at any relevant history.”
So what will happen with the case? “People have erroneously made the assumption that he original Oct. 20th date of the agreement between the two parties was also in some way a deadline for DCFS, and that is simply not the case,” another source tells People. “Things remain in a holding pattern at this point and are ideally nearing a conclusion. This investigation has always been and continues to be open-ended.”
The actor will surely cooperate with officials after this new development, as he has been very calm and cooperative throughout this investigation. Since the alleged incident where he was reported for verbally and physically abusing Maddox during a flight on Sept. 14, Brad has done interviews with CPS, has had chaperoned visits, and has taken not one but TWO drug tests and come back clean. Only time will tell if he can overcome yet another hurdle to be reunited with his kids again.
