Kara (Melissa Benoist) is very excited about the President of the United States coming to National City. She’s practically fangirling out. As Lynda’s character, President Olivia Marsdin, arrives, she’s attacked in front of everyone. Her Secret Service men take balls of fire for their Madam President.
Kara comes to their aid, and when there’s no one left to save President Marsdin, Kara steps up. Kara shields the President Marsdin from the fire with her cape. Talk about girl power! President Marsdin has come to National City to discuss the alien vs. human rights issues that are heating up. Supergirl and the DEO are assigned to protect President Marsdin.
This is quite the epic moment for superhero fans. Lynda played the iconic superhero Wonder Woman from 1975 to 1979 in a TV show. The role is now being taken over by Gal Gadot, who will play Diana Prince in the upcoming 2017 DC film.
The rest of the synopsis for the Oct. 24 episode reads: “Alex (Chyler Leigh) teams up with Detective Maggie Sawyer (Floriana Lima) to investigate the case while Kara searches for a recently escaped Mon-El (Chris Wood), who she fears may be the alien behind the assault.”
Supergirl has been thriving since its move to The CW from CBS. The show premiered its second season to record numbers on The CW. The show garnered 3.1 million same-day viewers, the network’s biggest in the Monday timeslot since 2008. Way to go, Supergirl! The show airs Mondays at 8 p.m. ET.
