There’s nothing like a good ol’ fashioned rap feud! After Kid Cudi accused Drake of not writing his own songs, Drizzy fired back at his rival with a diss track, ‘Two Birds, One Stone.’ While spitting verses, Drake called Cudi a drugged-out wash-up! Fans were definitely living for this.
“My numbers are out of the world, no wonder they got me feeling so alienated,” Drake, 30, rapped while debuting the song on OVO Sound Radio on Oct. 23, according to Complex. “You were the man on the moon, now you go through your phases/Live for the angry and famous.”
Oh. That’s cold. Man On The Moon is an album by Kid Cudi, 32, per Genius.com, a record that had a “major impact” on the current generation of rappers. That wasn’t the only lyric supposedly directed at Cudi. “Never been on hiatus,” Drizzy rapped. “You stay Xanned and Perked up / So when reality set in you don’t gotta face it.”
Yikes. It’s not that hard to guess that “Xanned” and “Perked” are short for the prescription drugs, Xanax and Percocet. That’s a cold shot from Drake, considering Kid Cudi checked himself into rehab on Oct. 3 due to depression and suicidal urges. Damn. When Drizzy goes after someone, he goes for the kill.
The reaction to this track was mixed. While some were excited for another rap feud and the amazing verses that would come from it, some fans interpreted the “phases” line as an insult of Cudi’s mental illness issues. Others pointed out that, following the moon metaphor, “phases” would mean “phases of the moon” and that Drake was rising while Cudi was falling (and that Kid stayed “perked” to avoid dealing with that “reality.”)
Phases of the moon are in the ebb and flow of the tide. Drake is going at the ebb and flow of Cudi's career.

What if Drake is giving Kid Cudi a topic to rap about. Creating fake 'beef' is often used profile elevation. It is entertainment after all.

The latest round in Drake Vs. Cudi started after Kid went on a Twitter rap, calling out Drake and Kanye West, 39, as “fake” “clowns” who get all the praise for their lyrical skills but, according to Kid, have “30 people write songs for them.”
These two hip-hop heavyweights didn’t wait that long to clap back at Cudi. Kanye told Kid to never mention his name again, saying “I birthed you.” Drizzy, on the other hand, said that Kid needed to “cuddd-it.” Now, will Cudi respond soon? He released an eerie music video for his song “Frequency” just days after entering rehab. Maybe this diss track will give Cudi some motivation (or, at least, something to write about as he gets better.)
What do you think about Drake’s diss track, HollywoodLifers? Do you think he went too far with the lyrics?
