Real Madrid has shaken off their 4-game winless run with a pair of back-to-back victories, per the International Business Times. Real was more real than real, as Los Blancos bested Real Bestis in a 6-1 La Liga game. Then, the defending Champions League champs took another step in going back-to-back, shutting down Legia Warsaw, 5-1.
These victories came with Luka Modric, 31, Sergio Ramos, 30, and Casemiro, 24, riding the bench due to their respective injuries. They still won’t be ready for this game, though Fabio Coentrao, 28, might finally return.
“Sergio Ramos, Casemiro and Modric continued their respective recovery processes,” Real Madrid said during their website. “The big news to come out of the session was the presence of the Croatian out on the pitch, as he carried out running exercises separate from the group, before heading back to train in the indoor facilities.”
Bilbao will not be pushovers for the dominant Madrid squad. They’ve won five of their last six La Liga matches and they’ve got some momentum going. They shut out Genk in the Europa League. Kepa, 22, is expected to start in goal, per Soccer Lens, while Eneko Boveda, 27, Mikel Balenziaga, 28, and Anger Aketxe, 22, will be out for this game.
Who do you want to win, HollywoodLifers? Will Real Madrid reclaim the top of La Liga’s table or will they take a tumble, courtesy of a Bilbao upset?
