Taylor Swift’s July 26 deposition about her alleged 2013 groping by a radio DJ has now been made public, and it’s haunting. Taylor speaks about feeling ‘violated’ and ‘distressed’ by the incident. Click through to read her deposition.
“Right as the moment came for us to pose for the photo, he took his hand and put it up my dress and grabbed onto my ass cheek and no matter how much I scooted over it was still there,” Taylor, 26, said in her July 26, 2016 deposition. “It was completely intentional, I’ve never been so sure of anything in my life.
“I remember being frantic, distressed, feeling violated in a way I had never experienced before,” she said. “A meet-and-greet is supposed to be a situation where you’re thanking people for coming, you’re supposed to be welcoming people into your home, which is the arena for that day, and for someone to violate that hospitality in that way, I was completely stunned.”
Taylor accused Denver radio DJ David Mueller of KYGO radio of grabbing her inappropriately backstage after a concert in June 2013, as they posed for a photo with several other people. Two days later, David was fired. He sued Taylor in 2015, saying that her accusation was false, and that because of her, he lost his job. Taylor took legal action against the DJ in response to his suit.
He amended his lawsuit in March 2016, adding two slander charges. He said that either he accidentally touched Taylor, or that it was his then-boss, Eddie Haskell, who committed the alleged assault. Crazy! Taylor’s countersuit was for assault and battery; she pledged to donate any money she won to charities that protect women from sexual assault.
The deposition became public after a judge decided on Friday, October 21 to deny Taylor’s request to keep evidence from the case sealed. The only part of her case that remains private is the photo from the meet-and-greet in which David is allegedly groping Taylor. She reportedly filed the deposition in July so that she could hopefully win the case before it would ever have to go to trial.
