Party on, pups! Hundreds of canines filled the streets for the NYC Halloween dog parade on Oct. 22, rocking green ears like Yoda, super-cute fireman suits and more creative costumes! See the ADORABLE pics of all the furry friends right here!
Our hearts could barely handle the cuteness at the Tompkins Square Halloween Dog Parade in New York City on Oct. 22. Hundreds of furry pups were dressed to the nines for the spooky occasion, rocking some seriously adorable outfits that paid homage to pop culture references and A-list stars. The annual celebration always brings out overly zealous owners who are jumping at the opportunity to dress up their four-legged friends for the epic costume contests. Not only was there a runway competition at noon, there were “thousands of dollars in prizes!” Pups were dressed as firemen, one as Yoda and another was even a “dog in sheep’s clothing.” LOL!

CNN dubbed the annual celebration “the largest dog costume parade in the world” with thousands of spectators traveling from a far to partake in the festivities. The London Guardian even claimed, “It’s Barkin’ Mad.” This year’s parade was sponsored by Purina Beggin. Attendees also entered in raffles, but they had to be present to obtain their prize, otherwise it was donated to charity, which still was a win-win! Of course, many creative owners went the extra mile with their canine’s ensembles, one of which even dressed up their pup in a Donald Trump, 70, costume!
This year’s most popular look was Pikachu, which makes sense after the success of Pokemon Go! We also have to give a shout out to the suave pup who sat in front of the Iron Throne reading “Game of Bones,” obviously referencing the hit HBO series! Many were taking to Twitter to document the entire experience, writing hilarious captions that made the whole ordeal that much more memorable! Who’s ready for Halloween now!?
