It’s the end of an era! Richard Simmons’ famous exercise studio, Slimmons, is closing for GOOD after bringing in 42 years of successful business. The reclusive star has been facing some tough times lately, so we have to wonder if the fitness icon is OK! Read all the details, here.
Richard Simmons‘, 68, fitness empire is crumbling right before our eyes! After 42 years, exercise studio Slimmons is shutting its doors forever, and we can’t help but fear if this is the last piece of Richard we’ll ever see. As you may know, the former fitness guru hasn’t been seen out in public for over two years, following a health scare that landed him in the hospital. Richard inspired so many people to work up a sweat through his aerobics videos and inspirational pep-talks, so to see his own gym bite the dust is truly heartbreaking.
We still aren’t 100% sure as to what happened to Richard, but according to the workout instructor, his June 3 hospitalization was due to extreme dehydration. But that’s only one piece of the puzzle! Richard’s housekeeper claims he was exhibiting bizarre behavior, which prompted her to call 911. And then that’s it…He vanished like a ghost and has been a recluse inside his LA home to this very day. It wasn’t long until the rumor mill caught fire that the housekeeper was keeping Richard locked in his mansion against his will! Thankfully, the LAPD did a welfare check in Jan. 2015 and found out that he was fine.
As if Richard wasn’t going through enough already, multiple news outlets bashed him for allegedly wanting to transition into a woman. The National Enquirer published a serious of photos of Richard wearing wigs and skirts, and it didn’t take him long to stand up for himself and put the rumors to rest. “Some tabloids have recently falsely reported that I am transitioning,” he wrote on Facebook in June. “In response, I feel compelled to set the record straight and refute these lies.”
HollywoodLifers, what do you think the reason is behind Slimmons shutting its doors?
