Amy Schumer, 35, teamed up with Goldie Hawn, 70, to recreate Beyonce’s controversial single, “Formation,” in a hilarious parody video, and they did an amazing job all the way down to the dances moves! In the comical music video entitled “Get In Formation,” Amy and Goldie stripped down to a ratty old slip dress and an oversized tee. As the camera panned over to a forest area, the ladies began to do their version of Beyonce’s choreography! The duo didn’t quite nail every move, but who can really master a dance originally done by the Queen Bey herself? So considering the circumstances, they were pretty impressive. Amy seemed to lead the counts, while she tried to sexily sing along. And Goldie followed, bouncing around to the song. We are laughing so hard our abs hurt!
During the video, The Girl with the Lower Back Tattoo author and Kate Hudson’s, 37, mother made an outfit change to customized shirts that read “Texas Bama,” referencing the hook on the single, while they continued to dance along to the song. Wanda Sykes, 52, and actor John Cusack, 50, also made cameos in the video. “When on an island with @goldiehawn @iamwandasykes & Joan Cusack… you listen to @beyonce and get in formation,” Amy tweeted about the parody.
It’s pretty great to see Amy, Goldie, and friends bringing a positive and light-hearted energy to the scene, especially because Beyonce’s original music video stirred up so much controversy! The video, which was filmed in New Orleans, made a lot of people uncomfortable and outraged because of its perceived messages about certain social issues. Some viewers even attempted to boycott the singer! Yikes! While Beyonce’s version is definitely worth the conversation, it’s cool to see that Amy and others could just have fun with the upbeat single.
The duo aren’t the only ones who know how to have a good time with a Beyonce video though. The “Get In Formation” video follows behind a number of parodies inspired by Bey’s Lemonade album, including ones from Jimmy Kimmel, 48, James Corden, 38, Aziz Ansari, 33, and Ellen DeGeneres, 58, who recreated Beyonce’s “Role Model” video. SO epic!
