Gwen Stefani, 47, sported her signature beauty look while attending Barack Obama‘s final State Dinner as President in Washington D.C. on October 18. Wearing a floor-length black gown for the occasion, Gwen added a bit of her usual edge to her formal look with sheer floral detailing and a plunging neckline.
Keeping her hair and makeup classic and chic, Gwen opted to wear her long, platinum blonde hair up in a slicked-back ponytail. Instead of her usual retro waves, Gwen’s hairstylist Danilo added extensions to Gwen’s hair for a long ponytail that he styled straight. Slicking Gwen’s hair back for a clean finish, Danilo added a little bit of volume at the crown of her head and covered the elastic by looping the ponytail through at the top.
For her makeup, Gregory Arlt gave Gwen one of her signature looks — matter red lipstick, long lashes and black winged eyeliner. To copy Gwen’s look, try the Urban Decay Vice Lipstick in Bad Blood, $17. The true red shade works on every skin tone, and the comfort matte finish wears like a creamy lipstick so it won’t dry out your lips even after hours of wear.
Excited about her performance at the White House, Gwen shared the above picture of herself with President Obama to her Instagram. Gwen made the memorable night even more special by bringing along boyfriend Blake Shelton, who performed a duet with her onstage in addition to accompanying her as her plus one for the night.
