If you were expecting Frank Ocean’s name to be on the list of Grammy nominees for 2017, you are out of luck. The singer has been deemed ineligible for the 2017 Grammys, and the reason will shock you. Fans are livid about it and taking to Twitter to sound off on their fury.
Frank Ocean’s two albums he released this year — Blonde and his visual album Endless — were not submitted for consideration by Frank’s labels, management or other reps, Billboard reports. Both albums were released in Aug. 2016. The 2017 Grammy eligibility cutoff date was Sept. 30. Needless to say, when fans found out that Frank, 28, wouldn’t be receiving any Grammy nominations, they were pissed. See their tweets below.

It hasn’t been confirmed why Frank’s album wasn’t submitted for consideration. However, a source told Billboard that Frank’s team was “aware of the deadlines and made the decision.” The nominations will be revealed Dec. 8.
Blonde and Endless were Frank’s first albums in more than 4 years. Fans anxiously awaited the arrival of Frank’s new music. His previous album, Channel Orange, was nominated for 5 Grammy Awards in 2013. He won two Grammys that year: Best Urban Contemporary Album and Best Rap/Sun Collaboration.
Frank may have missed the Grammy deadline, but he didn’t miss President Obama’s final White House state dinner on Oct. 18. The singer brought his mom, Katonya Breaux, along as his date for the night. So cute! While the dinner is a very formal event, Frank paired his tuxedo with a pair of checkered slip-on Vans. Only Frank could pull off such look! Chance the Rapper, Jerry Seinfeld, James Taylor, Gwen Stefani, Blake Shelton, Mario Batali, Roberto Benigni, and New York Governor Andrew Cuomo were also in attendance.
HollywoodLifers, are you mad that Frank is ineligible for a Grammy in 2017? Do you think he deserves an Grammy? Let us know!
