Derrick Rose and two of his friends have been cleared of ALL charges in the civil rape case made against them. More details inside.
Derrick Rose, 28, has been found not guilty of rape in the civil case made against him by an unidentified woman. The woman claimed that Derrick and two of his friends gang raped her while she was unconscious, and were later accused of additional charges including trespassing, sexual battery and battery. On Wednesday, October 19, a jury cleared Derrick and his friends of all charges. The jury was made of 6 women and 2 men, coming to a total of 8 jurors.
Derrick has confirmed that he had sex with the woman, however he has remained adamant that it was consensual. The woman not only accused him and his friends of the 2013 rape, but also tried suing Derrick for $20 million. As the verdict was read, the victim appeared “somber” with her head down, reports TMZ. Once Derrick was cleared, he and his lawyers were seen shaking hands and smiling.
