After Azealia Banks claimed Russell Crowe assaulted her inside his hotel room Oct. 15, and pressed charges, she wants an apology! She’s accusing him of ratting out his side of the story to the public. Get the crazy details here!
Azealia Banks, 25, and Russell Crowe, 52, probably won’t be traveling in the same circle of friends anymore due to the alleged hotel smackdown that went on Oct. 15. Now, she’s demanding an apology from the actor. “I would like him to apologize to me publicly now because [he] went to TMZ, [like an] idiot,” she told E! News.
After she took to Facebook to tell her side of the story (which is now deleted), TMZ came out with reports from alleged eye witnesses that painted a different picture. (That’s what the singer was referring to in her quote). So, Russell didn’t speak directly with the outlet, but that didn’t stop her from demanding an apology and pressing charges. “I didn’t want to press charges because dealing with the police, dealing with the courts is such an inconvenient thing,” she said. “I don’t want this happening. They say I’m doing this for attention. Who wants this kind of attention?”
Azealia told E! she felt the need to go public with her story, not just for herself, but for other women. “I’m pretty sure this happens to women in Hollywood so often, where you get chastised into a corner,” she said. “Even his attorney called me and said something like, ‘If you say something about this, then you’ll never work in this town again.’ I’m pressing [charges] now.” WOW.
The singer even believes she was set up during the entire hotel incident. “He doesn’t get it. He thinks I’m just some little black girl from Harlem that doesn’t have any backing,” she explained. “They think they can just frame me.”
