Each coach is left with eight team members after the final Battle Rounds on the Oct. 18 episode of ‘The Voice.’ But who are the final contestants to advance to the Knockout Rounds? And who did Blake Shelton save his FINAL Steal for? Check out our recap to find out!
The first Battle of the night is between Blake Shelton’s artists Austin Allsup and Preston James, who work with the country singer and his adviser, Bette Midler, to put together a performance of “Bad Moon Rising.” As Blake points out, it’s the “perfect” song because it fits the guys’ country genre while also allowing them to show off their “edge.” Their duet is absolutely incredible, and leaves their coach with a tough decision, but ultimately, Blake chooses Austin to stay on his team.
Next up, Alicia Keys’ contestants Gabriel Violett and duo Whitney & Shannon prepare for their Battle. Alicia and adviser Charlie Puth help them perfect a rendition of “More Than Words,” and the classic tune is perfect for their unique blend of voices. Only one can be the winner of the Battle, though, and even though both artists slay when they take the stage, Alicia picks Whitney and Shannon as the winner.
The final Battle of Season 11 is between Bindi Liebowitz and Brendan Fletcher from Team Adam Levine. Bindi and Brendan are tasked with singing “Home,” and they get advice from their coach and his adviser, Sammy Hagar, ahead of the performance. The result of the hard practicing pays off, as their performance is clearly the moment of the night — and Adam has a TOUGH time deciding who to keep to round out his team. He chooses Brendan, but it’s not the end of the road for Bindi…because Blake pushes his button to use his final Steal to keep her in the competition!
Here’s where the teams stand so far (Italics indicate a Steal):
