Lamar Odom’s Relapses Explained: Why Khloe’s Ex Can’t Get It Together — Expert Says

There may be more reasons behind why Lamar Odom can’t seem to figure things out and clean himself up than we thought. Drug addiction expert Doug Caine spoke EXCLUSIVELY with about Khloe Kardashian’s ex’s relapses, and why he may not be able to get sober, yet. Get the scoop here.

“Is Lamar [Odom] really struggling to get his life together today? Currently, he may not want to be sober,” drug addiction expert Doug Caine told EXCLUSIVELY. “For a person who is a celebrity and an addict, there are far more drivers to relapse than drivers to sobriety. That is the reason we hear about so many celebrities losing their freedom, or losing their lives, or both. It is so terribly difficult for a celebrity like Lamar to get and stay sober, when the people around you are unreliable, so many of those people have a vested interest in keeping you sick, keeping you loaded and on display instead of keeping your best interest at heart.”

That’s so tragic. We know how much Lamar’s ex, Khloe Kardashian, 32, wanted him to get sober, and how hard the one year anniversary of his overdose in Las Vegas was for her. “The trappings of the world are sexier for Lamar than recovery,” Doug told us. “So many people surrounding Lamar will continue to make money if he keeps blowing it. People around Lamar are going to increase their own visibility and their own income if Lamar continues down this destructive path.”

It is absolutely terrifying to think that people would take advantage of Lamar so they can get what they want, instead of supporting him in his sobriety and assisting him in getting the tools he needs to fight relapses. We really hope that one day Lamar is able to hold his head up high and talk about how many years he has been sober for. We know that there are so many people who want to see him succeed and we’d be happy to know he is healthy.
