SUCH exciting news! Kerry Washington & her hubby Nnamdi Asomugha have welcomed a precious newborn baby into the world, and their 2nd child’s sweet name has FINALLY been revealed! Find out what they chose to call the newest member of their family here!
What a happy time for Kerry Washington, 39, and Nnamdi Asomugha, 35, who recently became two-time parents after the Scandal star gave birth to their second child on Oct. 5. And while the couple already have a little girl together, Isabelle, 2, now the two have a BOY! And the name they chose for their latest bundle of joy is just TOO cute!
Kerry and Nnamdi chose to name their son Caleb Kelechi Asomugha, according to E! News, and we’re kind of loving their selection. Such a cute moniker, right? The name has Hebrew roots and means “bold” or “devotion to God,” according to Nameberry.com.
But we’re not surprised Kerry and her former NFL-playing husband picked such a meaningful name. After all, Isabelle is also a beautiful name with tons of significance attached to it. The name Isabelle is actually a Hebrew name too, which translates to “pledged to God,” according to Nameberry.com. And from 2009 to 2015, the popularity of the name has actually grown from being ranked number 126 to currently being ranked number 94 on the US’ list of most popular girl’s names.
Aside from picking great names though, Kerry truly does seem like an amazing parent. And while she doesn’t talk about her family often, when the actress does open up, it’s quite inspirational! “I do think of myself as more of an ambassador, you know, for her to the world,” Kerry told Oprah Winfrey, 62, of Isabelle earlier this year. “She’s my teacher.” How amazing is THAT? This second child certainly is lucky to have such a great mom in Kerry!
