Little did I know that many years ago, when I was first assigned to write about ‘Dancing With The Stars’ how much I would fall in love with the show, and how it would impact my life.
As part of my “beat” for a few years now at HollywoodLife.com, I’ve covered Dancing With The Stars. I’d never seen the show but the glittery costumes and spray tans really spoke to me as a Beauty Director and former figure skater.
Throughout the many seasons I’ve written about, the show continues to insight me and inspire me. If an official cast announcement didn’t thrill me in the beginning, it was always surprising to see how the celebrities really opened up — and opened my eyes — as the show progressed. You always end up falling in love with multiple members of the cast that you knew nothing about!
I love that they push boundaries. Last season, they had deaf model Nyle DiMarco, who was simply amazing without any ability to hear or feel the music.
This season, that is Terra Jole. As the first little person on the show, she is breaking boundaries and proving herself every single week. She has a feistiness, fire, and humor that makes her so enjoyable to watch. Jana Kramer and Gleb’s ridiculously sexy “shower dance” on the October 18 episode was hot, hot, hot, and an amazing show of strength from the domestic abuse survivor.
I am also IN LOVE with James Hinchcliffe. A self-proclaimed professional driver who “sits for a living” is the most surprising — and I think, one of the most talented on the show.
DWTS has a unique way of combining emotional storytelling and gorgeous dancing that really captivates me and the already-huge audience of the show. I love it and I can’t wait to watch the rest of this stellar season!
