Rejoice music fans — we haven’t heard the last of David Bowie! Two of the creative genius’ unreleased tracks are FINALLY here, with a third still on the way. Take a listen to the singer’s final tunes before his tragic passing right here.
Has Christmas come early? We’re thanking all the music gods right now for sending us a reminder (not that we needed one) of how great David Bowie, 69, is! The singer’s secretive tracks “No Plan” and “When I Met You” debuted on BBC’s Radio 6 morning show on Oct. 16 — and there’s still one more yet to come! The third unreleased track, “Killing a Little Time,” will present itself for the first time ever on David’s Off-Broadway Lazarus album, available for purchase on Oct. 21. TAKE A LISTEN HERE. (“When I Met You” at the 51:20 mark, and “No Plan” at the 46:20 mark).
Lazarus is one the last written works David completed before his heartbreaking passing in Jan. We had a feeling his other album Blackstar didn’t include all of David’s music — and turns out, we were right! Conspiracy theorists went wild with ideas that the 80’s icon had whole albums worth of unreleased tracks that were scheduled to appear at regular intervals after his death. So far, that theory is proving to be true. We might be hearing David’s music for the rest of our lives!
In more uplifting news, New York Theatre Workshop James Nicola revealed some happy tidbits about his late friend. “He seemed truly at peace and was excited by what he was experiencing,” he shared to EW, adding, “He floated into the lobby, really happy.” It’s that kind of cheerfulness that translates into David’s newest music. “When I Met You” is of course a romance song, with a bass line that stays true to the artist’s 80’s era. We can’t wait to hear more!
