Move over, Kevin… There’s a new patrolman in town and he’s causing some serious jealousy. HollywoodLife.com has the exclusive news of UFC fighter heading to the CBS sitcom.
Chris Weidman is the latest to join Kevin Can Wait, HollywoodLife.com can exclusively confirm. The 32-year-old UFC fighter will play Nick, a rookie cop who teams up with Kevin James’ ex-partner. Naturally, it causes a rift between Kevin and his BFF, but also creates a “one-sided competition between Kevin and the young super cop.”
Kevin naturally gets jealous of how well they’re getting along, and in turn wants to show his old friend what he’s missing. This marks Chris’ first TV gig, but it does make sense — the show is filmed completely in at Gold Coast Studios in Bethpage, New York on Long Island; Chris was born and raised in Baldwin, NY in Nassau County.
Kevin Can Wait was just picked up for a full season by CBS, along with Bull and MacGyver. The series marks Kevin’s return to TV following King of Queens. The show also stars Erinn Hayes, Taylor Spreitler and Ryan Cartwright, and airs on Mondays at 8:30 PM.
Chris’ cameo will be on Kevin Can Wait in an upcoming episode titled “Who’s Better Than Us?”
