How did Brandon Marshall catch that football? The New York Jets cornerback made an amazing play during the Oct. 18 game against the Arizona Cardinals, snatching the ball out of the air while an opponent’s hand was grabbing his face! Click to watch.
Add this one to Brandon’s highlight reel. The 32-year-old New York Jets player pulled off the play of the game (for his team, at least) during the second quarter, per Fox Sports. On the second down with three yards to go, Ryan Fitzpatrick, 33, lobbed the ball to Brandon. Despite the Arizona Cardinals’ Patrick Peterson, 26, doing all he could to block, Brandon still managed to make the catch!
Wow. That catch is still mind-boggling, especially since Patrick didn’t get penalized with either face masking (15 yards) or for pass interference (automatic first down at the spot of the foul.) Perhaps Patrick’s embarrassment of watching Brandon pull off a greater catch than his “one handed interception” was penalty enough?

Sadly, Brandon’s catch was the only good news the Jets got all night. They would go on to get smoked by the Cardinals, 28-3. All of Brandon’s hard work didn’t even result in a touchdown. On the other side, David Johnson, 24, of Arizona had the night of his life. He ran for 111 yards and three touchdowns.
While Patrick may not have fond words of getting clowned by Brandon, he did rave about his teammate. “I say it each and every week. David’s special,” he told ESPN. “I mean very, very, very special. We got us one in (No.) 31.”
The victory put the Cardinals at 3-3, while the Jets fell to 1-5. QB Ryan went 16 for 31 passes, and he was actually benched for Geno Smith, 26, when Ryan’s longest drive of the night resulted in an interception. However, Geno wasn’t any better. His only series out on the gridiron ended when Tyrann Mathieu, 24, made the interception. Seems Tyrann took a page out of Brandon’s playbook. Shame he was not on the same team, though.
What do you think about Brandon’s catch, HollywoodLifers? Do you think the Cardinals will win three-in-a-row when they play the Seattle Seahawks? Can the Jets bounce back when they play the Baltimore Ravens?
