Who would have thought politics and romance could mesh so well? Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani had what looked like a terribly romantic evening when they joined President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama for his final state dinner. They even sang a duet together for the occasion!
Gwen Stefani, 47, and Blake Shelton, 40, made a date night out of Barack Obama‘s final state dinner on Oct. 18. Gwen had been asked to perform for the guests at the affair, hosted in honor of Italy, with a list of names that included Jerry Seinfeld, Chance the Rapper, Frank Ocean, James Taylor, Giorgio Armani and Naeem Khan. We bet Gwen was very excited she was able to bring Blake as her plus one to watch her perform at this star-studded event, because he ended up joining her on stage for a duet!
Gwen, who looked gorgeous in her black gown with a plunging neckline, invited her beau up on stage to sing their sweet duet, “Go Ahead and Break My Heart,” together. It was absolutely perfect and so romantic! It looked like they only had eyes for each other and it didn’t even matter that the rest of the crowd was there!
However, the couple did take time to join the rest of the guests in dining on Chef Mario Batali‘s exquisite Italian dishes. The White House’s executive chef, Cris Comerford, said that meal planning for the event started back in August, according to ABC News. Michelle Obama even taste tested it at Mario’s restaurant Babbo in New York City. Whoa, looks like Gwen and Blake got to make an even bigger night of it with a meal like that!
We absolutely love us some Gwen and Blake and watching them standing next to each other, smiling from ear to ear, as they talked to other guests is just so precious! They are one of our fave couples and we are SO hoping we get to hear of their engagement soon! We have our fingers crossed that the news will be coming any day now. But, until then, we’re happy to sit back and watch them go on cute adventures like this together.
