First Lady Michelle Obama had her most fashionable moment yet on the cover of the ‘New York Times Style’ magazine. The black and white portrait features Michelle with flawless skin, perfectly lined eyes and glossy hair. Get the details on her new cover, ahead!
Michelle Obama, 52, just received one of seven covers for the New York Times Style ‘Our Greats’ issue. The First Lady, who is as well known for her fashion sense as she is for the programs she has launched in support of children and the military, looked beyond stunning in her close-up cover.
For the NY Times Style shoot, Michelle turned to her usual glam squad, who have helped her look her best for every big event throughout her White House years. Though her cover picture is in black and white, inside the mag (and online, here,) Michelle’s picture is in full color, showing off makeup artist Carl Ray‘s detailed work.
With flawless skin and bold brows, Carl created the most perfect eye makeup we’ve ever seen, giving Michelle a shimmery bronze smokey eye with false lashes for length and volume. To really make her eyes pop, Carl expertly applied liquid eyeliner along Michelle’s upper and lower lash lines, and finished the look off with a touch of neutral gloss on her lips.
For her hair, Johnny Wright kept things classic with a sleek style. Instead of sticking with the volumized waves look that Michelle often sports (and recently wore on her covers for both Variety and InStyle), Johnny blow dried Michelle’s hair out straight and parted it down the middle.
Just a week before her cover debut, Michelle gave an impassioned speech at a New Hampshire rally for Hillary Clinton ahead of the coming election in November. Pleading with Americans not to let Donald Trump get away with his latest derogatory remarks, Michelle said, “We need someone who is a uniting force in this country. We need someone who truly cares about us and our children. Someone with strength and compassion to lead this country forward. Hillary Clinton will be that person.”
