Shots fired? Kanye West went off on an epic rant during his concert, blasting copycat rappers and boasting that he was the ‘original.’ Though he didn’t drop names, fans immediately suspected that it was Drake ‘Ye was calling out. We have the video, and all the details, here.
Throwing major shade? Kanye West, 39, went OFF on one of his infamous rants during his show on Oct. 16 in Edmonton, Canada, shouting that other rappers need to quit copying him. “This is original! Accept no imitations! Stealing our s–t, stealing our stages,” the outspoken rapper yelled as he stopped the music, while performing on a floating stage. As you can see and hear in the video, the crowd went nuts, clapping and cheering “Yeezy! Yeezy!” Seriously, we can’t imagine what it must have been like.
While the “Gold Digger” singer didn’t mention any specific names, fans immediately wondered whether ‘Ye was calling out Drake, 29. After all, the “Hotline Bling” rapper is known for often performing on floating stages, so it does make sense that perhaps the diss was aimed at him. Still, the old saying “imitation is the best form of flattery” pops in our heads, so we can’t help but wonder if Kanye is maybe just a bit happy that other rappers have copied him!
As far as we know, there’s no beef between Drizzy and Kim Kardashian‘s husband. The two even have a joint record planned for release! “We’re just working on music, working on a bunch of music together, just having fun going into the studio,” the rapper told Vogue in Sept. 2016. “We’re working on an album, so there’s some exciting things coming up soon.” We can’t wait.
