Billy Bush’s departure from NBC News may be imminent, and he’s about to get a massive settlement, according to a new report! The suspended ‘Today’ show anchor will reportedly receive a lump sum of $10 million for getting kicked off the show after the Trump tape leaked!
Billy Bush, 43, and his legal team are reportedly talking to NBC to work out a settlement according to sources who spoke to Page Six, and it may be a large, lump sum payment equal to the amount of his three-year contract: $10 million. Wow! Billy only joined Today in August, so that’s a massive amount of money for just two months of hosting.
“Negotiations between Billy and NBC are progressing, and will continue to progress, and hopefully we will reach a conclusion in the near future,” Billy’s attorney Marshall Grossman told Page Six on October 14. “We were preparing for battle, but today we are preparing for settlement.”
Billy reportedly won’t be offered a “soft-landing” job somewhere else at NBC, like journalist Brian Williams got when he was booted from Nightly News. Instead, the company reportedly just wants Billy gone!
Billy co-hosted the 9:00am hour of the morning show, until he was suspended due to the release of the vulgar Trump tape. Audio footage leaked to the Washington Post, revealing a 2005 conversation between Billy and Donald Trump, 70, the now-presidential candidate. Donald, then the host of The Apprentice, made obscene comments that sounded as if he condoned sexual assault, saying that he grabbed women “by the p***y”.
He also spoke grossly about Billy’s then-cohost on Access Hollywood, Nancy O’Dell. He slut-shamed her, and griped how she denied his attempts to sleep with her. Billy didn’t do anything to defend Nancy during this conversation. When Donald started in on objectifying Days of Our Lives star Arianne Zucker, Billy said she was “hot as sh*t.” Gross!
