The world will never forget how Donald Trump lurked creepily behind Hillary Clinton at the second presidential debate on Oct. 9, and in her first interview since the event, Clinton reveals that she felt like he was ‘literally’ stalking her! WATCH the video right here.
Hillary Clinton, 68, gets candid about the debate drama in the Oct. 14 episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, admitting that she felt like Donald Trump, 70, was trying to “dominate” her by standing (lurking, really) behind her the whole time she was speaking. WATCH:
“You stayed so calm,” Ellen DeGeneres, 58, tells the Democratic presidential candidate in the new interview. “I had several reactions,” Clinton begins. “First, it was clear that my opponent, Donald Trump, was going to try to dominate the space almost to the exclusion of the people who were sitting there,” she says.
“And because of the revelation of the public video and everything that came out on Access Hollywood he was really all wrought up and you could just sense how much anger he had,” Clinton adds. “So he was really trying to dominate and then literally stalk me around the stage and I would just feel this presence behind me and I thought, whoa, this is really weird, so I was just trying to stay focused.” (In case you missed it, here’s a recap of Trump stalking Clinton at the debate.)
“[I was] trying to keep my composure; trying to interact with the moderators…but really for me, it’s frustrating. I feel such a sense of obligation to people that I work at trying to make sure what I’m saying is appropriate, is accurate, conveying that to people,” Clinton says. Yep, not easy when Trump is shadowing you the entire time.
