This is SO horrifying! A routine exercise turned disastrous after a great white shark broke into a diver’s cage at an undisclosed location off of the Guadalupe Island. Watch the terrifying video here!
OMG! This is so hard to watch! A great white shark somehow breached a steel diver’s cage during what appeared to be a routine feeding!
In the mortifying video, you can see the real life Jaws flipping its fin above the water before moving closer and closer to the diver’s cage. As people on the dock frantically yell out, the shark appears to aggressively move into the cage, knocking it from side to side. “He’s in the cage,” someone says, as a man in an orange shirt puts his hands to his head in fear. Yikes! There seems to be a brief calming moment before the shark reappears out of the top of the cage and wiggles back into the body of water. We’re totally freaking out! And what’s even worse, was that a diver was still in the cage!
After a couple of seconds of panic and frantic questioning, the diver reemerges from the battered cage to safety. Although he wasn’t noticeably injured, he appeared to be out of breath and a little shaken up. As the people cheered for his safe return, all he could do was put his hand against his chest. This is totally insane!
Shortly after the video was uploaded to the YouTube page under the name Gabe and Garrett, the uploader also edited the caption, explaining the events that viewers had just witnessed. “What might appear to be an aggressive great white shark trying to attack the cage, this is not the case,” the caption read. “These awesome sharks are biting at large chunks of tuna tied to a rope. When a great white shark lunges and bites something, it is temporarily blinded. They also cannot swim backwards. So this shark lunged at the bait, accidentally hit the side of the cage, was most likely confused and not able to swim backwards, it thrust forward and broke the metal rail of the cage.”
