Update: Reports have been circulating that chaos erupted on the set of Jennifer Lopez’s hit show ‘Shades of Blue’ on Oct. 12, when men with guns stormed the set; however, we have spoken with a show rep who confirms this is not the cast.
A source close to the show has confirmed to HollywoodLife.com that there were shots heard nearby set and there were necessary precautions took. However, they later noted they were off in the distance, and NYPD film units were there. They continued to shoot and finished the day.
Shades Of Blue was shooting in Brooklyn on Oct. 12 when gunfire rang out on-set, Deadline reports. Luckily, Jennifer Lopez, 47, had already left by the time this alleged attack went down, although recurring star Kathryn Kates was still inside her trailer. Two Production Assistants were reportedly being chased by the men with guns as the ordeal unfolded, and started banging on Kathryn’s door as they tried to run away, according to Deadline.
The site reports that police quickly arrived and calmed things down, and production sources say that everyone involved in the show is okay, although they’re obviously shaken up over the terrifying incident. Interestingly, though, NYPD Lt. Thomas Antonetti told the site that “they had no confirmed reports of a shooting and no 911 call was made.”
In Shades Of Blue, Jennifer plays an NYPD detective who works in the FBI’s anti-corruption force. But she’s also a single mother to a 17-year-old, and has plenty of personal drama to deal with on top of her hectic work schedule. The cast, which also includes Ray Liotta and Drea de Matteo, is currently filming the show’s second season, which is set for a midseason premiere.
With this show, production on her new album and having to take care of her two kids, the 47-year-old has obviously been kept busy these days, so we’re so glad she’s okay and can get back to doing what she does best.
HollywoodLifers, can you believe this happened? Are you a fan of Shades of Blue and are you excited for the upcoming second season?
