The Battle Rounds are underway on Season 11 of ‘The Voice,’ and the coaches are faced with even more tough decisions in the Oct. 11 episode. Check out our recap to find out who stays, who goes home and which lucky artist gets stolen!
The first Battle of the night is between Lane Mack and Sophia Urista from Miley Cyrus’ team. The 23-year-old has Joan Jett helping out as her adviser during rehearsals, and the ladies help the duo prepare an incredible rendition of “Money” by Pink Floyd. Only one can stay on Team Miley, though, and she chooses Sophia as the winner — but it leaves her in tears to see Lane go.
Courtney Harrell and Ethan Tucker from Team Blake Shelton are the next artists to take the stage. They work with the country singer and his adviser, Bette Midler, on a performance of John Mayer’s “Gravity,” and with their unique tones mixed together, it sounds pretty amazing. Blake is left with a tough decision, and when his coaches aren’t much help, he’s literally torn. Finally, though, he picks Courtney to stay on his team.
During the episode, we also find out that Adam Levine pairs up Elia Sparza and Ponciano Seoane, and chooses Ponciano to stick around. Meanwhile, Miley matches up Josette Diaz and Charity Bowden and picks Josette, as well as Khaliya Kimberlie and Maye Thomas, keeping Maye.
The final Battle of the night is between Alicia Keys’ artists Dave Moisan and Michael Sanchez. The singer and her adviser, Charlie Puth, work with the guys on a rendition of “Valerie,” which they slow down from the original to make the vocals stand out. They also add a piano for the guys to share throughout the performance, and it adds an entire new element to the show. Alicia makes the difficult choice of picking Michael for her team, but Adam isn’t ready to let Dave get away — and he pushes his button for the Steal!
Here’s where the teams stand so far (Italics indicate a Steal):
Alicia: Christian Cuevas, Courtnie Ramirez, We McDonald, Michael Sanchez
Adam: Jason Warrior, Riley Elmore, Billy Gilman, Dave Moisan
Miley: Ali Caldwell, Lauren Diaz, Sophia Urista, Josette Diaz, Maye Thomas
Blake: Sundance Head, Courtney Harrell
