It looks like Billy Bush’s suspension from the ‘Today’ show is going to continue for quite a bit. Following the huge Donald Trump controversy that led to his ban, Carson Daly has been tapped to co-host the show tomorrow, according to an Oct. 10 report. Get all the details right here!
Carson Daly, 43, will co-host the 9:00 AM hour of the Today show, sources tell our sister site Variety. “Daly is expected to fill in on the program tomorrow and co-host with Tamron Hall, though whether or not he will serve multiple days during that hour remains to be seen,” the insiders say. NBCUniversal is currently deciding how to handle the controversy surrounding Bush and the leaked offensive conversation he had with Donald Trump, 70 — as we previously told you, they suspended him on Oct. 9 and Al Roker filled in for Bush’s timeslot today, Oct. 10.
“NBC has decided to suspend Billy, pending further review of this matter,” Today executive Noah Oppenheim wrote in an email to staff regarding Bush’s ban. “There is simply no excuse for Billy’s language and behavior on that tape.” Uh, agreed.
ICYMI, Trump was caught red-handed on a 2005 Access Hollywood tape, talking to Bush about the Republican presidential candidate’s habit of sexually harassing women. The pair had no idea they were being recorded, and beyond lewd terms were used. Bush is clearly facing the consequences.
Variety also reports that Bush’s “ultimate fate” is still up in the air, and “various scenarios are being considered”. We’ll keep you updated as it all plays out!
