Who needs the NFL when you’ve got the MLB? Ben Affleck, a huge fan of baseball, gushed to HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY about the ‘legend’ known as David Ortiz, who just played his last game with the Boston Red Sox. Check out his heartfelt comments, here.
Can someone please pass the tissue box? The Boston Red Sox just played their last game of the 2016 season, which means David Ortiz has officially entered retirement! And if there’s anyone who’s majorly upset about this — it’s Ben Affleck! “No one will ever replace Papi,” Ben tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY, adding, “He’s a icon and a legend! He is the best clutch hitter maybe in history, and he’s one of the most important Boston athletes.”
It’s been known for quite some time that David (AKA Big Papi) was going to retire at the end of the Red Sox’s current season, which came to an end when they lost against the Cleveland Indians on Oct. 10. It’s so bittersweet that David had to end his career with a losing game! Thankfully, Ben is here to remind Bostonians that not all hope is lost when it comes to New England’s sports teams, because, hello, they’ve got Tom Brady! “The Patriots look good and Tom is back,” continues the hunky actor. “The football world is where you have to turn your head to dry your tears from baseball.”
Thank you so much Ben for helping us see the silver lining! The legendary quarterback returned to the football field in Week 5 against the Cleveland Browns, and of course served up an ass-whopping score of 33-13. The husband to Gisele Bundchen was suspended for four weeks this season, following the Deflate Gate scandal. But was he upset over it? Not really. Just look at those pics of him sunbathing BUTT NAKED in Italy with Gisele by his side.
HollywoodLifers, are you bummed out about David’s last game?
