You didn’t think celebs would stay silent on another presidential debate night, did you? Stars like Anna Kendrick and Jessica Chastain took to Twitter on October 9 to slam Donald Trump for chalking up his sexist remarks to ‘locker room talk.’ Click through to read their furious tweets!
Donald Trump, 70, was an angry loose canon at the second presidential debate on October 9, and celebrities watching from home certainly noticed! While there was tons to talk about during the historic night — like Trump’s second bout of suspicious sniffles — the one thing people like Anna Kendrick and Brooklyn Decker talked about was his “locker room talk.”
By that, they’re furious about the excuses Trump immediately made when asked about his vile, sexist tapes from 2005 that were leaked on October 7. Moderator Anderson Cooper asked him if he realized he was talking about sexual assault when he told then-Access Hollywood host Billy Bush on a hot mic about grabbing and kissing women, and “grabbing them by the p***y.” After a lot of roundabout, Trump said that he didn’t sexually assault anyone, and that he was just engaging in some “locker room talk.” Yip can see from these tweets that nobody is buying that:
Locker room talk? You're not on a team. #Debates

Dear @andyroddick , is this normal locker room talk? ✊🏽🙀? If so… 🔪🍆!
— Brooklyn Decker (@BrooklynDecker) October 10, 2016
Dear other countries, the views and opinions expressed by Trump are solely those of Trump and do not represent the views of the US. #debate

Locker room talk = things that sexual assaulters say?

'Locker room talk'?! Ugh ugh. Sorry. I have a better vision of men than that. #debates
— Jessica Chastain (@jes_chastain) October 10, 2016
Trump says 'just words, folks.' It's his accusation and his defence. Words don't matter. Facts don't matter. If they don't, we're all lost.

Doubling down on "locker room talk"?! Like all men do this?! Trumps words are an attack on women, this pathetic excuse is an attack on men.
— Anna Kendrick (@AnnaKendrick47) October 10, 2016
ENOUGH with the "locker room" talk.
I. Can. Not. #PresidentialDebate

calling it "locker room talk" just means you support rape culture BEHIND women's backs. call it what you want, you STILL SAID IT. #debate

God, I hope that the next GOP candidate in 2020 is not an imbecile only to elevate the national debate. Seriously, this is such a joke.

It’s so gross, and it’s clear that these celebrities are paying attention at home! When Hillary was given a chance to talk about the tapes, she went absolutely off! She said that the content of the tapes revealed “exactly who he is.” And it seems like she’s trying to say that he’s pretty terrible. She spoke of wanting every child in America to know that the country is great because we respect each other; if Trump is president, that won’t happen! There would be a slut-shaming, fat-shaming, misogynist in office.
