Yikes! It was obvious from the very beginning of the second presidential debate that it was going to be a gloves-off throw down. When Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton took the stage, they didn’t shake hands — which is total tradition! Keep reading for more on that shocking moment.
This is unreal! We knew things were going to be really heated between Donald Trump, 70 and Hillary Clinton, 68, during the second presidential debate in St. Louis Oct. 9. The two walked onstage and faced each other, nodded in acknowledgement of each others’ presence and then turned to face the audience. THE DIDN’T SHAKE HANDS!! OMG, this has got to be a first in televised presidential debates because it is basic decorum. It was a total bellweather of the absolute ugliness of the debate that was to come.
You could feel the chill in the room as the pair kept their distance and barely registered each other’s presence initially. We kept waiting for that eventual handshake but it just never came. This is totally unheard of, as even the most hated of contenders can still manage to put on a good face just for one second and give a pre-debate handshake. At least Hillary gave him a pleasant smile, while the Donald seemed to just want to get to the task of hammering away at her.

The pair did a friendly handshake and the first presidential debate at Hofstra University and even managed to smile at each other while doing it. But things have gotten so ugly between the two, especially with Donald’s recent vicious attacks against Hillary’s husband, former president Bill Clinton‘s alleged past sexual indiscretions. Not to mention the tycoon’s disgusting and vile comments about how he treats women, which Hillary — and the WORLD — have called him out on. At the end of the debate, the two FINALLY shook hands, after their brutal battle had come to and end.
HollywoodLifers, do you think it showed bad sportsmanship of the two to not shake hands at the start of the debate? Or are things just too heated between the candidates for them to even show any goodwill at this point?
